Those Cute CrafTangles Crabs!

Happy Sunday!

It's all about the crabs today over on the CrafTanlges blog HERE.  I've got a blog post showcasing those cute crab stamp sets which are perfect for the weather we've been having this Bank Holiday!  There's a mini tutorial too, more details further down my post.

The sentiments with the sets are all quite amusing and go so well with the crab images.  The crabs have great expressions on their faces - they certainly make me smile!

For my first card I used a film strip die cut as I associated the 'snappy' sentiment not only with the crab but taking photos.

For my second card I used a really versatile stencil set to create the distress ink beach background.  I made a funny scene with one of the crabs being hoisted by the balloon.

For my final card, I've done a tutorial to show how easy it is to make these circle easel cards.  They're fun!

I've kept the designs quite simple so that the crabs stand out.  I've used my zigs to colour in all the images and added a Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.

We're hoping to spend a day at the seaside tomorrow as the weather is supposed to hold out and I'm really looking forward to as I find the sea so calming, I could sit and watch it all day!

Have a great week,
Shabneez

I'll Have A Coffee To Go! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Not sure where the days are going, they appear to be rolling into weeks and it'll be September soon! I must admit the school holidays are really speeding by and I managed to get school shoes and uniform this week in preparation.   Now, all I have left is sewing in the name labels - yawn..........

Over on the Daring Cardmakers blog this week, Kathy has chosen the delicious theme of fast food and coffee to go.  Fluffy Gustav has a starring role on my creation, as like me, he loves his coffee and I'm sure you'll agree he's rather cute!

I've kept with the coffee theme and made coffee cup rings for the background and added a few flat gems and twine to finish.  I love the sentiment - don't you?!

There's a feast for the eyes to be had on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE but beware if you're going to look on an empty stomach!  Haha!

See you again in a couple of days!

Action! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a hectic week with lots of day trips and family time.  My brother and family have flown back to America and we've been missing them a lot.

Over on the Daring Cardmakers blog today, there's a lot of 'action' taking place.  Kathy has set the Challenge to use the word 'action' interpreting it as you wish.

I've gone with a card demonstrating an action.  I really enjoyed making the background using distress inks and watercolours.

I found a stamp in my stash which resembled bike tracks or at least it was my interpretation!

You can see the wonderful creations that the rest of the DT have come up with HERE and I hope they inspire you to have a go!

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's All About The CrafTangles Sentiments

Happy Monday!

I'm up on the CrafTangles blog today with a selection of projects using the new CrafTangles stamps sets, concentrating on the use of sentiments.

For my first card, I water coloured the sunflower stamped image and added the sentiment as an extension of the stalk.  I kept it quite simple but doubled up on the sunflower head to give it a 3D look.

I used the same stamp set for my second project but with kraft card, coloured with pencils and added liquid pearls in the centre.  The sentiment was attached on the side.

For my final project, I used another new stamp set.  This time I made a tag with a liquid pearl background using a stencil and added the sentiment as a tag on the rose.

You can find further details on my projects using CrafTangles sentiments HERE on the CrafTangles blog.

All being well, I hope to see you again on Friday.

Have a great week!

Unnatural Colours - Daring Cardmakers Challenge DT

Happy Friday!

A twist on nature using unnatural colours is the new challenge set by Enfys over on the Daring Cardmakers blog this week.  I've used a grey butterfly and striped, patterned and pink bunnies on my card.  The Design Team have made some fabulous makes, who'd have thought unnatural colours would work so well?!  You can see their creations and join in with the challenge HERE.

I've used a mixture of die cuts and printed bunny shapes from a really old Kaisercraft kit I couldn't bear to use at the time.  Times have since changed and I'm now ruthless with using my craft stash!

My brother and family are over from America and this is a special card that I intend to post to my nieces once they go back together with a little mini album of their visit as a keepsake.

Before I go I must thank you all for your comments on my blog posts - they're much appreciated.  I do make every effort to ensure I visit you back.

See you again very soon,

Angie's Digital Stamp Challenge DT - Challenge 12 (August 2017)

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a good weekend!  A colourful start to the week from me.  I do love my vibrant colours and they work especially well on cards to and from children.  I'm sharing another teacher card I made, which thinking, about it could be given to a new teacher when the schools start back in September.

This card is for Angie's Digital Stamp Challenge with an Anything Goes Theme and optional twist of Back to School that began yesterday.  I successfully used up some scraps I had on the rainbow banner border.  The digistamp is the pack of crayons which I coloured in and fussy cut before assembling my card.

Have a great week - I have a lot planned with the boys!

Daring Cardmakers DT - August Elemental Challenge

Happy Friday!

The first Friday of the month marks the start of the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers and Miri has chosen a very summery image, perfect for those tropical days we all dream of! You have to chose any 3 elements from the image below and incorporate them into your card.

From the image, I used the flamingo, flowers and colours on my card.  First, I stamped and coloured a flamingo then fussy cut it out with a craft knife as my scissors wouldn't have given me the finish I wanted, with the legs in particular.

The dotty background is packaging I kept from a pack of cards and I used a piece of scrap card which I cut into a banner.  For the tropical leaves with the flowers, I used the Trimcraft free download papers which I resized and fussy cut, curling to give a 3D effect.

I'm in love with the sentiment which is perfect for the season, even though the weather in Essex doesn't quite agree!  It's part of a new stamp set I got from CrafTangles.  I added a couple of glitter dots to embellish my card.

You'll see a lot more inspiration on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE and I hope you'll join in with the challenge.

Have a great weekend - don't know about you but I'm hoping for a little tropical weather!
