Happy Tuesday to you all!

CrafTangles is hosting it's very first blog hop which is open worldwide so if you fancy getting your hands on some of their products then please hop along!

Blog Hop Order:

1. CrafTangles
2. Rahmat
3. Shabneez - you are HERE!
4. Paru
5. Swapna

In order to be eligible for a prize you must visit all the blogs above and leave a comment.  CrafTangles will choose 2 winners who will each get a goody bag!  It is open worldwide.

You have until 3.30pm on 3 June 2018 to enter.  Good luck!

For this blog hop we each chose 3 stamps from the CrafTangles April release.

I've chosen to do one layer cards.  These are the ones I actually do least of as I prefer to have some depth on my cards.  Therefore it was a bit of a personal challenge.

This first card is actually on of my favourites.  I used a simple technique of inking the stamp with different coloured distress inks.  I love the effect it gives and I added a sentiment.

Next up I used the 'Will You Be Mine' stamp set and once I stamped and coloured the image I masked her and added ink through a stencil.

For my final card I used a variety of distress inks through the polka dot stencil and stamped one of the stamps from the Happy Mother's Day stamp set to finish.

So, don't forget to leave a comment and move on to Paru's blog to continue the blog hop.

See you again soon,
Shabneez

Colourful Paper Flowers - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I thought I'd bring some colour to my blog post today as it's wet and miserable outside.  Dawn has chosen the challenge this week for the Daring Cardmakers.  She'd like to see paper flowers on your projects.  You can see lots more floral inspiration by my fellow team mates HERE.

I used pre die cut flowers that I got in a pack a long time ago with crafting material for the boys.  I picked a colourful array of flowers and assembled them on a background then added a little foliage and gems to embellish.

It just goes to show you don't necessarily need lots on a card and clean and simple can be just as effective, especially if you're pushed for time.

Once again my intention is to take it easy this weekend although I do have a mountain of ironing to get through and other household chores that don't do themselves.  I'm sure some of  you can relate to that!

Enjoy your weekend and see you again soon,
Shabneez

Cards for Dad with CrafTangles

Happy Thursday!

A very rainy start to the day but I'm up on the CrafTangles blog HERE with a trio of cards perfect for Dads.  You could use these stamp sets for birthdays or Father's Day which is coming up soon in the UK.

These cards were all created using the Father related stamp sets brought out recently.  For my first card I added a touch of glitter with a little washi tape and alphabet lettering.

I do like the sentiment which has become quite popular over the years.  I used my Zig pens to colour the image, fussy cut it and adhered it to the pretty plaid papers.

For my next card after colouring in the image, I masked it and used my distress oxides to make a background.  I added sentiments and a little paper to set it off.

For my final card I used a stamp set that could actually be used for anyone providing the percentages apply of course!

I liked the quirky dictionary style of the word Dad in this stamp set.  I added stitched banner dies and backed with pretty plaid paper.

I hope to see you again tomorrow, I have a card ready but need to write my blog post!

Time to Say Goodbye - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

A little later than usual today as I have been trying to get my photo taken and it just wasn't happening - do you ever suffer with this?  It's either the lighting or the composition or both in my case!

Anyhow, on with the new Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers which has been set by Svenja.  She has picked 'Time to Say Goodbye'.  This could be a new home, sympathy or retirement card.

I've gone along the sympathy lines but used a thinking of you sentiment.  The sentiment was one I've  had in my stash for a long time.  The papers are from the First Edition Perfect Allusion pad and I've made a gatefold card adding fussy cut flowers from the same paper pad.

Can you believe I have nothing planned for this weekend?  We have begun fasting for the month of Ramadhan so I'm trying to take it a little easier on the weekends.  I'm very much looking forward to it.

I hope you have  a wonderful weekend whatever you do!

Bee Happy - Daring Cardmakers

Happy Friday!

I made it!  Card made yesterday but this blog post was written in parts this morning.  I woke up early and blitzed the house - so exercise and cleaning all in one.  Don't you like my thinking?!

So, Enfys has chosen the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers this week and she wants to see anything to do with bees on your creations.  More inspiration can be found HERE.

I was gifted the Bee Happy collection from Trimcraft by a very kind and thoughtful friend and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  All the printed papers and ribbon are from this range together with the sentiment which is cut from one of the ribbons.

My only additions are the scalloped frame die cut and the embossed bee die cut.

I have loads to be getting on with today, helping a friend with party preparations, commissions and parent meeting reports so it's all go!  Now can you see why I was up early?

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to 'Bee Happy!'

Paper Piecing with CrafTangles Products

Happy Thursday!

I'm up on the CrafTangles blog HERE with a tutorial on paper piecing.  As soon as I got my last DT package I knew that the pretty plaid papers would work well with the Hello Baby Stamp.

The first card I've kept quite simple as I wanted to show the technique for paper piecing and I have a step by step tutorial on the CrafTangles blog.  This is where you stamp on the cardstock then on paper and cut out pieces and stick on to the main image.

I've added both wooden and punched stars to finish, together with the sentiment.

For the second card, I've used the same image but paper pieced the bear so it looks like it's wearing a sleep suit - I had the image in my head......

I've added stitched border dies and two sizes of clouds to this one together with the sentiment.

For my final card, I've gone all out and paper pieced a lot of the image in different coloured papers.

I think the sentiment is just so cute - don't you?

I might be back tomorrow but I'm not quite sure as I haven't actually made anything for it yet and it would help..........I suppose you'll just have to wait and see - haha!

Have a lovely day,
Shabneez

Bokeh Background Creation - Daring Cardmakers

Happy Friday!

May already!  I've had a wonderfully creative week - tried some new products, attempted a new technique which I used in this post and made someone very happy with a first birthday card I made.

The first Friday of the month is an elemental challenge on the Daring Cardmakers.  The elements inspired me to have a go at creating a Bokeh background.  Bokeh is basically a blurred effect produced by a lens in photography.

I began by creating the ombre background using distress inks then once I was happy I inked through a stencil I made using my trusty Fiskars circle punch with chalk ink to make a Bokeh background.  This is a technique I've wanted to try for such a long time as I've been inspired by other people's creations.

To finish I die cut a branch and added a sentiment as I wanted the background to be the focal point of my card.

Below is the elemental board chosen by Ruth where I got my inspiration from.  You can see the colours, in particular the ombre pinks which I used together with the circles and a branch from the tree.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge and take a look at the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE.

Here's hoping for a little sunshine over the Bank Holiday weekend.

See you next week,
Shabneez
